Responsibilities:
- Perform high-quality mammographic imaging, including screening and diagnostic mammograms, to aid in the evaluation of breast health.
- Prepare and position patients for mammography procedures, ensuring comfort and explaining the process to alleviate anxiety.
- Operate Hologic Selenia Dimensions mammography equipment to capture detailed images of breast tissue, following established protocols to ensure diagnostic accuracy.
- Review and assess the quality of mammographic images, adjusting as needed to achieve optimal results and documenting findings.
- Accurately record patient information, imaging results, and technical details in electronic health records (EHR) and prepare preliminary reports for review by radiologists.
- Work closely with radiologists, breast specialists, and other healthcare professionals to communicate findings and integrate mammography results into patient care plans.
- Maintain a safe and effective work environment by adhering to radiation safety protocols, infection control procedures, and regulatory standards.
Requirements:
- Education: Associate or bachelor's degree in radiologic technology accredited by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT).
- Certification: Registered Radiologic Technologist from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist and Mammography Technologist (RT(M)) from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or equivalent certification.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of experience as a Mammography Technologist, preferably in a clinical or outpatient setting.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in operating mammography equipment and Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS).
- Clinical Skills: Proficient in performing various mammographic procedures with precision and strong understanding of breast anatomy, mammography techniques, and radiation safety practices.
- Communication: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
- Attention to Detail: High attention to detail and accuracy in performing and documenting mammography procedures.
