The Walsh Group is actively seeking a Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) Manager to join our Water Division. This role is essential in ensuring the safety and compliance of our construction projects.
The HSE Manager will play a crucial role in conducting inspections, leading accident investigations, facilitating safety meetings, and overseeing the implementation of comprehensive health, safety, and environmental (EHS) protocols. This position requires meticulous record-keeping and reporting in alignment with contractor, client, and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Project Manager and management team to create and execute a tailored site-specific EHS plan, ensuring adherence to corporate and regional EHS standards.
- Assist in coordinating EHS protocols with subcontractors and vendors, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and minimizing risks.
- Conduct thorough on-site EHS audits and regular inspections to verify compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Lead investigations into accidents and incidents, providing detailed reports for management review.
- Support injured employees during medical evaluations, ensuring all safety protocols are strictly followed.
- Advise on Industrial Hygiene practices and conduct Environmental Monitoring as needed.
- Oversee the implementation of the Company’s Drug-Free Workplace Policy, ensuring compliance with testing protocols.
- Facilitate training sessions for personnel on EHS requirements, including orientation for new hires.
- Manage the corporate SPAT process for assigned projects.
- Provide weekly updates on EHS activities to leadership.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- Certification as a Construction Health & Safety Technician (CHST).
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in the construction EHS sector.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to think critically and solve problems effectively.
- In-depth knowledge of safety regulations, hazard recognition, and injury management.
- Willingness to travel as required.
- Physical ability to stand, sit, walk, and climb as necessary.
