Position Overview
We are seeking an Associate Gas Controller to become a vital member of our Gas Control Team. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the flow of gas from supply to delivery points, addressing system issues, and ensuring compliance with contractual obligations while maintaining system integrity.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide daily updates on gas facility status to field operations, especially during system damages.
- Facilitate prompt repairs by advising on isolating damaged facilities and rerouting gas supplies.
- Assist the Damage Prevention group with Gas Loss Calculations.
- Document changes in the gas distribution system and communicate these to relevant teams.
- Support the System Operations team with SCADA programming and maintenance tasks.
- Monitor SCADA systems and respond to alarms by adjusting equipment settings as necessary.
- Manage gas nominations to ensure contractual obligations are fulfilled.
- Provide outage information to the Dispatch and Customer Service departments as needed.
- Collaborate with various departments during peak gas usage periods to ensure reliable delivery.
- Act as the primary contact for large volume customers and pipeline suppliers during emergencies.
- Deliver reports and information to clients upon request.
- Analyze weather forecasts to assess their impact on the pipeline network and adjust operations accordingly.
- A minimum of two (2) years of technical experience in natural gas operations is required.
- A high school diploma or equivalent is necessary.
- An associate degree from an accredited institution is a plus.
- Familiarity with SAP, SCADA, and GIS systems is advantageous.
