Position Overview:
The Senior Risk Management Specialist offers specialized guidance and support in business governance and control for a specific business or functional area, executing policies/processes and initiatives to achieve governance and control objectives.
This role may involve complex reporting, analysis, testing, and assessments at either the functional or enterprise level, and typically serves as a lead or Subject Matter Expert (SME) in a designated area/function.
Responsibilities:
• Serve as a SME level professional requiring extensive knowledge and expertise in the specific domain, while possessing a working understanding of related areas.
• Integrate broader organizational context into advice and solutions within the area of expertise.
• Understand industry dynamics, competition, and differentiating factors for the organization.
• Apply best practices to enhance processes, products, or services.
• Lead projects with moderate to complex risk and resource requirements; may oversee end-to-end processes or functional programs.
• Contribute to establishing standards within the area of expertise.
• Address complex challenges that necessitate analysis of multiple variables, often in consultation with various stakeholders.

Qualifications:
• Preferred undergraduate degree.
• Extensive knowledge of business and risk management environments.
• 5+ years of relevant experience.
• Proficient understanding of governance, risk, and control procedures, strategies, and tactics.
• Familiarity with current and emerging trends.
• Skills in mentoring and coaching others.
• Proficient in analytical software tools, data analysis methods, and reporting techniques.
• Competent in using computer applications, including MS Office.
• Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
• Ability to collaborate effectively and build relationships.

• Sound judgment in decision-making.
• Proficient in analyzing, researching, organizing, and prioritizing work while meeting multiple deadlines.
