Job Title: Senior Machine Assembly Lead

Xylem is seeking a highly skilled Senior Machine Assembly Lead to join our team. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for directing a high-performing team of machine builders and assemblers, driving lean management and continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate team activities, set daily expectations for safety, quality, scheduling, and costing.
  • Understand established quality standards and perform quality checks per work instructions.
  • Identify root causes and trends of issues/problems in work areas, communicate information to support/empower work group and initiate action plan to resolve issues.
  • Coordinate activities for training of team as directed by supervisor, including maintaining training matrix.
  • Utilize MS office products to document and track improvements.
  • Lead by example, mentor, coach, and teach.
  • Bend/manipulate air lines, assemble conduit and wiring.
  • Able to build complex machinery representing a variety of product lines.
  • Subject matter expert – must possess knowledge and communication skills to answer inquiries from plant engineers, customers, field service engineers, and other stakeholders.
  • Enter work hours in ERP system (Currently SAP), if applicable to site.
  • Completes required documentation relative to production and quality.
  • Drives continuous improvement process and conducts daily housekeeping/5S audits to ensure continuous improvement activities.
  • Update and redline drawings as required.
  • May read and interpret blueprints (product specific).
  • Maintains equipment and area in a clean safe condition.
  • Take care of internal and external customer needs and expectations.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Minimum 5+ years of relevant experience required.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead a workgroup.
  • Must be able to clearly communicate.
  • Must understand and apply all applicable piping codes and requirements.
  • Have working knowledge of MS office products & ERP system.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
  • Proficient in the use of hand tools.
