Position Overview:
Job Summary
This role involves maintaining and restocking inventory in a safe and efficient manner to fulfill customer purchasing needs. The position emphasizes creating a welcoming atmosphere with a focus on excellent customer service. Typically, shifts range from 6 to 8 hours, occurring between the hours of 9:00 PM and 9:00 AM.
Key Responsibilities:
- Proactively engage with customers, providing friendly and courteous service.
- Ensure the quality and condition of all products; restock, rotate, and face merchandise; dispose of outdated and spoiled items, and maintain the stockroom.
- Precisely cut boxes and arrange smaller containers on shelves.
- Uphold a safe, secure, and sanitary working environment.
- Order products, cut cases, stack, price, and label merchandise.
- Construct product displays and operate related equipment such as hand trucks and pallet jacks.
- Execute all job responsibilities with integrity and honesty.
- May assist in training new employees.
- Perform additional duties as assigned or necessary.
Qualifications:
Required Skills:
- Consistently deliver friendly and courteous service to both internal and external customers.
- Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills, both verbally and in writing.
- Availability to work varied nights in a 24/7 operation, including weekends and holidays.
- Ability to reach, lift, stack, and maneuver objects of varying dimensions and weights up to 40 lbs frequently.
- Occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.
- Push and pull hand trucks and pallet jacks carrying substantial weight.
- Stand, walk, and move quickly for extended periods.
- Bend, stoop, twist, and turn frequently.
- Ensure safe and accurate completion of all work activities.
- Perform repetitive tasks accurately and with mental alertness.
- Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division).
Learn and memorize product locations, checkout procedures, company policies, PLU codes, inventory control, and shipping and receiving protocols.
- Exhibit manual dexterity and good hand-eye coordination for moving freight.- Work in various weather conditions for outdoor tasks.
- Manage potential hazards related to equipment, tools, and work aids.
- Work in cold storage environments.
- Conduct visual inspections of merchandise placed on shelves.
- Perform tasks requiring manual dexterity for the placement of small items on hooks and shelves.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Efficiently and accurately perform primary duties.
Additional Requirements:
- Food Handlers Certification (as per state regulations).
Equipment Operated:
- Electric and manual pallet jacks, hand trucks, garbage and cardboard compactors.
- Forklift as needed.
- Box cutter.
