We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Technologist to join our team at the Detroit Medical Center. As a Medical Technologist, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality laboratory services to our patients.
Job Summary:Under general supervision, you will perform quantitative and qualitative laboratory tests on patient specimens according to standard laboratory formulas and procedures. You will analyze test results, prepare samples for testing, calculate test findings, and maintain records. Additionally, you will prepare and determine the validity of solutions, reagents, media stains, and various materials in the testing process.
Responsibilities:- Process and test all types of laboratory specimens
- Review and report lab results
- Perform operational duties, maintenance, and advanced troubleshooting of laboratory instrumentation and equipment
- Act as a resource to other laboratory personnel
- Bachelor's Degree from an approved college or university and/or graduate of an accredited school of medical technology
- Registered or registry eligible in accordance with an approved certifying agency (ASCP, NCA, AMT, or CSMLS within 12 months of hire)
- Prefer 6 months to 1 year medical laboratory technologist, clinical laboratory scientist experience in an acute care facility
