Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team at Regional Cancer Care Associates. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality patient care and support to our patients and families.

Responsibilities
  • Provide general nursing care to patients, including administering medications and treatments as prescribed.
  • Assist with patient care and promote efficient patient flow.
  • Observe, record, and report patient conditions and reactions to medications and treatments.
  • Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with nursing standards.
  • Screen patients for appropriate information and instruct patients in collection of specimen samples for testing.
  • Respond to and refer incoming telephone calls and instruct patients and families regarding medications and treatment instructions.
  • Record patient data prior to each physician visit, including vital signs, height, weight, allergies, and medication changes.
  • Perform EKG and oxymetry readings as required by physician.
  • Obtain blood specimens from peripheral sites as needed and in accordance with OSHA and universal precautions.
  • Phone in prescriptions and make other patient calls as required or directed by physicians.
  • Maintain patient files, records, and other information.
  • Initiate IV fluids and IV therapeutic medications in accordance with LPN/LVN state nurse practice act.
Requirements
  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Graduate from an accredited school for practical nursing.
  • At least 3 years experience as a practical nurse.
  • Phlebotomy experience preferred.
  • Current LPN state license and registration with the State Board of Practical Nursing in practicing state.
  • Current BCLS certification required within 3 months of hire.
