Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Journeyman Plumber to join our team at Allstate Plumbing. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining plumbing systems in residential and commercial settings.
Key Responsibilities
- Study specifications, building plans, and shop drawings to determine tools and equipment required and the appropriate sequence of installation.
- Install and repair plumbing fixtures, including sinks, toilets, bathtubs, urinals, water heaters, water softeners, and others.
- Locate and mark the position of pipe, pipe connections, and passage holes for pipes in walls and floors using a ruler, level, and laser.
- Cut openings in walls and floors to accommodate pipe and fittings using hand and power tools.
- Install sleeves and leave outs for roof and wall penetrations. Dig, backfill, and tamp ditches using shovels, picks, and tampers.
- Cut, ream, and solder copper tubing/piping, braze, solvent weld, fuse, and thread pipe using pipe cutters, reamers, torches, allow gaskets, solvent cements, fusing machines, press fittings, groove, and pipe threading machines.
- Assemble and install valves, pipes, and fittings composed of metals (iron, steel, copper, brass, lead) and nonmetals (glass, vitrified clay, plastic) using hand tools and power tools.
- Join pipe using mechanical, solder, brazing, and pipe joining methods.
- Fills pipe systems with water or air and reads gauges to determine system leaks.
- Maintain the work area in a clean, orderly condition and follow prescribed safety regulations.
- Provide leak detection services to inspect and survey systems for the cause and origin of concealed leaks behind walls, under concrete slabs, and in basements, landscaping, water intrusion in roofs, irrigation systems, radiant heat systems, and pools and spas.
Requirements
- Current Journeyman/Journeywoman license is required.
- Valid Texas Driver's License is required.
- Previous applicable work experience is required.
- Good customer service skills are required.
- Tunnel repair experience is a plus.
- Ability to problem solve and a clean background check is a must.
