Job Overview:

The Manufacturing Engineer plays a crucial role within the Engineering and Production Team at Prime Design, a subsidiary of Safe Fleet. This position is primarily tasked with planning and designing Lean Manufacturing processes. Key responsibilities encompass the introduction of new products, enhancement of existing products and processes, execution of lean-six sigma initiatives, and involvement in environmental, safety, and capital projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Enhance operational productivity by evaluating equipment layout, workflow, assembly techniques, and workforce utilization while prioritizing employee safety.
  • Identify necessary parts and tools to meet manufacturing objectives based on product and component specifications.
  • Possess familiarity with a range of industry concepts, practices, and procedures, and execute a variety of complex tasks.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Supervisory Role:
  • This position does not include supervisory responsibilities.
Qualifications: Minimum Requirements-
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Industrial Management, or a related technical discipline.
Preferred Qualifications- A minimum of three years of experience in a manufacturing setting, preferably in a machine shop environment:
  • Proficiency in 3-D modeling software, particularly SolidWorks, with a proven ability to utilize data analysis tools.
  • Competence in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel and Outlook.
  • Mechanical aptitude.
  • Training in Safety, Quality, and Lean Manufacturing principles.
Physical Requirements: This position is hands-on, requiring significant time spent on the manufacturing floor.
  • While performing job duties, the employee is frequently required to stand, reach with hands and arms, walk, lift, and communicate effectively.
