We are seeking an MRI Technologist who will be responsible for operating MRI scanners to capture detailed images of patients' bodies for diagnostic evaluation. Emphasizing a patient-focused approach, you will deliver MRI services adhering to professional standards while ensuring exceptional customer care. Patients visit our facilities seeking clarity, and you will assist them through this often challenging experience by patiently guiding them through the process and addressing their inquiries regarding the examination procedures.
This is a full-time position (with the option for part-time, 30-39 hours/week, 0.8 or 0.9 status) working Monday through Friday, with shifts scheduled between 9:30 AM - 6:00 PM and 1:30 PM - 10:00 PM, including rotating Saturdays (no on-call duties). Training in MRI will be provided.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
(90%) Patient MRI Imaging Duties
- Screen patients prior to examinations for any precautions or contraindications, utilizing two patient identifiers to ensure accuracy.
- Explain and prepare patients for MRI procedures, detailing the process and positioning them appropriately for imaging.
- Conduct routine and advanced MRI scans on specified body areas for physician diagnosis and treatment, ensuring minimal supervision and repeat scans, while providing continuous patient support.
- Adjust MRI scanning parameters as necessary to optimize image quality.
- Foster positive relationships with radiologists, referring physicians, and colleagues.
- Adhere strictly to physician orders and safety regulations to ensure the well-being of yourself, patients, and coworkers.
- Maintain accurate patient records within the Radiology Information System (RIS).
- Keep the work area organized and clean, promoting safe practices for patients and staff.
- Ensure compliance with ACR toolkit and accreditation standards.
- Maintain equipment in optimal condition, performing cleaning and disinfection after each use.
- Comply with all HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality.
(5%) MRI Department Support Responsibilities
- Assist in updating the imaging protocol manual and implementing software upgrades.
- Monitor and manage medical supply inventory, requesting additional supplies as needed.
- Support the training of new staff, providing guidance and technical expertise as required.
(5%) Additional Tasks
- Complete other duties as assigned.
