Corporate Attorney

We are seeking a highly skilled Corporate Attorney to join our team at American Kitchen Delights, Inc. As a key member of our legal department, you will play a critical role in supporting our business lines, assisting with court litigation, and providing expert legal advice on various matters.

• Represent AKDI in court litigation and proceedings, presenting evidence to defend clients or prosecute defendants in civil litigation.
• Provide legal advice on corporate governance, employment matters, and real estate, as well as research relevant legal materials to aid decision-making.
• Prepare legal briefs and opinions, and file appeals in state and federal courts of appeal, while analyzing the probable outcomes of cases using knowledge of legal precedents.
• Coordinate and serve as a legal/compliance resource for various initiatives, guiding the commercial team on legal issues related to business plans and strategy.
• Draft, review, and negotiate comprehensive commercial agreements, providing counsel on customer and supplier contractual disputes and assisting with pre-litigation matters.
• Support and advise on regulatory compliance matters, providing training to company personnel on substantive legal topics and helping with the creation and implementation of legal policies and protocols.

• Juris Doctorate (JD) Degree with a license in good standing to practice in Illinois.
• Litigation and court representation experience, with Northern District of Illinois Federal Court Admission preferred.
• Minimum 2-3 years of experience, with knowledge of business law, employment law, and comfortable advising matters involving multiple states.
• Excellent legal and business judgment and analytical skills, with strong communication, organization, and cognitive skills.
• Ability to work in a team environment, with strong executive presence and the ability to effectively communicate and present to all levels of leadership.
