Job Summary:
Responsibilities include cleaning and sanitizing restrooms, sweeping and mopping hard surface floors, vacuuming carpets, cleaning stairwells, disinfecting touch points and surfaces, cleaning glass on entry doors and office windows, maintaining employee lunch rooms, dusting, and emptying trash receptacles.
Compensation: $17.20 per hour plus a $4.41 per hour Health and Welfare rate.
Is additional clearance required? Yes, in addition to the agency background check, employees must apply for clearance and badging through the Government agency Department of Transportation.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform routine custodial tasks, including dusting, mopping, vacuuming, cleaning restrooms, and restocking paper and soap supplies.
- Conduct routine maintenance of custodial equipment and supplies.
- Empty trash receptacles and dispose of waste into compactors and/or dumpsters, and bag trash for proper disposal.
- Unlock doors and ensure they are secured after cleaning areas.
- Report needs and concerns to the Project Manager, including checking supply levels.
- Ensure proper care in using and maintaining equipment and supplies; promote continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices.
- Less than high school education; no prior experience required.
- Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution above the minimum education requirement may substitute for experience on a year-for-year basis.
- Ability to understand and adhere to safety procedures.
- Ability to operate vacuums and other related equipment.
- Ability to safely utilize cleaning equipment and supplies.
- Ability to read, comprehend, follow, and enforce safety procedures.
- Ability to understand written and verbal communications.
- Must meet program eligibility requirements.
- Must pass a pre-employment criminal background check.
- Must pass a government background check to acquire a PIV access badge.
