Job Title: Travel Nurse RN - PCU Specialty

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Travel Nurse RN to join our team at Travel Nurse Source. As a PCU Travel Nurse, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care in a progressive care unit setting.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will have a strong background in PCU nursing, with experience in caring for critically ill patients. You will be responsible for monitoring cardiac and other critical vital signs, detecting any changes, and intervening in life-threatening or emergency situations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide nursing care to critically ill patients diagnosed with heart attack, defibrillator or pacemaker implant, or other cardiac conditions.
  • Monitor cardiac and other critical vital signs and detect any changes, thereby enabling intervention of life-threatening or emergency situations.
  • Initiate and revise the patient's plan of care based on continuing assessments.
  • Include patient teaching and discharge planning in overall plan of care.
  • Incorporate clinical and technical aspects of care with nursing actions and interventions in accordance with established policies, standards, and procedures.
  • Document nursing interventions and patient response according to hospital policy.
  • Evaluate effectiveness of nursing interventions and methods of implementation.
  • Practice within the limits of the state's Nurse Practice Act and health care facility and nursing administrative policies.
  • Supervise ancillary personnel in their performance of assigned job-related duties.
  • Ensure patient confidentiality and the rights of the patient.
  • Maintain and update skills needed for excellence in patient care.
  • Administer complex cardiac medications, including titration based on the patient's vital signs.
Requirements:
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing, with current licensure in good standing.
  • Minimum of one year of current hospital experience in PCU specialty.
  • Evidence of current BLS and ACLS required.
