Housekeeper (Assisted Living) Job Description

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Housekeeper to join our team at Westwood Commons, a DePaul Senior Living Community. As a Housekeeper, you will play a vital role in maintaining a clean and safe environment for our residents.

Responsibilities:
  • Adhere to a cleaning schedule to ensure resident rooms, common areas, and offices are clean and tidy.
  • Assist with furniture rearrangement and maintenance requests as needed.
  • Inspect furniture for wear and defects, and report any issues to management.
  • Empty and replenish waste baskets, and keep designated smoking areas clean.
  • Replenish soap dispensers and bathroom tissue as needed.
  • Clean rooms after resident discharge and prepare rooms for new residents.
  • Respect residents' rights and maintain confidentiality.
  • Report any safety hazards or concerns to management immediately.
  • Use safety equipment when necessary and keep cleaning chemicals secure.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to ensure the safe and effective functioning of the facility.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous experience in institutional housekeeping is a plus.
  • Must be at least 18 years old and pass a background check.
  • Documentation of tuberculosis clearance is required.
Work Environment:

Our facility is well-lit and climate-controlled, but you may be exposed to residents with communicable diseases or those who may be confused.
