The Dietary Aide is a vital member of our team, responsible for providing exceptional customer service to Residents and employees. This role requires a strong commitment to maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary environment in the dietary department.
Key Responsibilities:- Assist in the preparation of meals and beverages, ensuring high-quality nutritional services are provided.
- Participate in the food tray line, preparing trays according to diet cards in an efficient manner to meet scheduled meal and snack times.
- Load food carts and serve meals to Residents and staff, maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction.
- Bag and store food items as directed, adhering to established sanitation procedures.
- Clean and wrap silverware, inspecting each piece to ensure it is clean before wrapping.
- Bus and clean tables after mealtime throughout the facility, maintaining a clean and safe environment.
- Scrape, wash, and rack unclean dishes and utensils, ensuring they are sanitized and ready for use.
- Assist in the operation of the dishwashing machine, maintaining a high level of efficiency and productivity.
- Sort and stack clean dishes, inspecting for cleanliness and ensuring they are properly stored.
- Participate in table setup, including tablecloth, silverware, dishware, and filling cups with water.
- Discard waste/trash into proper containers, adhering to established sanitation procedures and guidelines.
- Ensure the work area is clean and free of hazardous conditions, such as spills, excess carts, and equipment malfunctions.
- Report all equipment malfunctions and breakdowns to the supervisor, maintaining open communication and ensuring timely resolution.
- Communicate and interact effectively and tactfully with Residents, visitors, families, peers, and supervisors, promoting a positive and respectful work environment.
- Attend and participate in meetings and in-services as directed or scheduled, staying up-to-date on company policies and procedures.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- ServSafe Certification preferred.
- One year of experience as a Dietary Aide preferred.
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
