Job Summary

The Assistant Director of Nursing will be responsible for managing the nursing department to maintain quality standards of care. This includes consulting with medical staff, department heads, and the Administrator on matters related to nursing service. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of one year of long-term or acute healthcare experience and at least two years of nursing supervisory experience.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Assist the Director of Nursing in managing the nursing department.
  2. Provide input into the interpretation of nursing philosophy and assist in establishing departmental goals and objectives.
  3. Assist the Director of Nursing with regulatory compliance and ensure effective communication strategies with all levels of nursing staff.
  4. Along with the Director of Nursing, promote positive employee relations, strong customer service, and commitment to ongoing staff education and training.
  5. Ensure the integrity of educational programs offered within the facility.
  6. Staff Development.
  7. Identify current employees to be mentored into leadership positions.
Requirements
  • A minimum of one year of long-term or acute healthcare experience preferred.
  • At least two years of nursing supervisory experience required.
  • Travel as required for regional or corporate meetings and marketing duties.
  • Currently licensed as RN in the state of practice.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred.
