  • As a Cytology Specialist at Accu Reference Medical Laboratory, you will be responsible for using clinical history and other patient information to arrive at proper diagnoses for each cytologic specimen.
  • You will examine cytology specimens for abnormal cellular changes and pathogens, sign out all negative gynecologic cases, and report other cytologic findings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for examining cytology specimens for abnormal cellular changes and pathogens.
  • Evaluate and mark GYN (reactive and reparative, abnormal, questionable or negative) slides.
  • Submit reactive and reparative, abnormal and questionable GYN cases to a pathologist for final evaluation.
  • Record results of each GYN slide read on appropriate forms/systems/etc. in a legible manner.
  • Participate in quality control reviews and maintain compliance with workload limits.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience as a cytotechnologist is required.
  • ASCP certification is preferred, but not necessary.
  • You must have a current passing grade of an annual cytotechnologist proficiency test.
  • You should be trained and proficient with Hologic Thin Prep Imaging System.

Salary Information:

">

The estimated salary for this position is $75,000 - $100,000 per year, depending on experience.
