Job Summary

The Anoka County Community Corrections department is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Probation Officer to join our team. As a Probation Officer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and well-being of residents in our juvenile corrections facilities. Your primary responsibilities will include developing treatment plans, conducting security checks, and supervising residents in all facets of institutional programming.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement treatment plans to promote positive behavior change in offenders
• Conduct security checks of buildings and grounds to ensure the safety and security of residents and staff
• Supervise residents in all facets of institutional programming, including educational and recreational activities
• Collaborate with other personnel to enforce rules and regulations, and ensure the safety and security of residents and staff

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a Bachelor's degree and at least one year of job-related work experience in a correctional or probation setting. You will also need to be at least 21 years of age and have a valid driver's license. Preferred qualifications include a degree in corrections, criminal justice, or a related field, and experience working with at-risk youth.

Work Environment

This is a full-time, non-exempt position that requires working in a juvenile corrections facility. You will be required to work a rotating schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. You will also be required to participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge in the field of corrections.
