LaBella Associates is seeking a skilled Ecological Restoration Technician to join our Environmental Division in Ballston Spa. This hourly, non-exempt position offers a competitive salary range of $16 to $18 per hour, with opportunities for overtime during peak seasonal times.
As part of our Ecological Construction and Restoration Program, you will be part of a growing team providing invasive species management, habitat rehabilitation, and wetland and stream restoration services for private and public sector clients.
Key Responsibilities:- Identify and control invasive species through herbicide application and/or physical removal
- Native seeding and planting
- Installation of erosion and sediment control features, and riverbank and riparian restoration
- Operation of tools and equipment such as chain saws, brush saws, herbicide sprayers, trucks, and trailers, and skid loaders
- Bachelor's or Associate's Degree in natural sciences (ecology, geography, biology, etc.)
- New York State Driver's License
- Construction experience
- Ability to drive large trucks, tow trailers, operate small to heavy equipment
- Ability to identify invasive plant species common to western and central New York
- Ability to work outdoors in inclement weather
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to walk all day over rough terrain
- Ability to travel regularly
- Willingness to obtain a New York State pesticide applicator license
