Position Overview

Financial Controller

This position entails overseeing the preparation of financial records, budget management, cash flow oversight, and handling investor data and reporting. Cedar Pine adopts a hybrid work model, necessitating three days of in-office presence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Generate financial statements adhering to GAAP standards, along with internal reports and customized financial analyses as required.
  • Manage investor records, allocation schedules, and reporting for stakeholders.
  • Oversee controls related to wire transfers and other cash transactions.
  • Supervise accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, expense reporting, fund bookkeeping, and investor communications.
  • Handle sensitive financial information with confidentiality and timeliness.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, including lending and property management, to compile and present relevant financial data to support strategic decisions.
  • Assist in the reporting for family office operations and the management of special purpose entities.
  • Administer cash flow and budgeting processes, analyzing all assets, income, expected expenses, and liabilities for entities managed by the family office.
  • Provide insights on the financial stability and liquidity of specific entities.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting; a Master's degree and/or CPA designation is preferred.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in real estate accounting or a related field (experience in commercial real estate is preferred).
  • Comprehensive understanding of commercial real estate matters, including leases and real estate financing principles.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage across the organization.
  • Ability to work autonomously with strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with partnership accounting and relevant tax documentation.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience with QuickBooks is advantageous.
