Key Responsibilities- Manage the daily operations of the inpatient acute pain service, including performing consultations, coordinating with interdisciplinary teams, and educating residents, students, and nurses.
- Develop and implement customized individual analgesic regimens for complex patients with multiple comorbidities, substance abuse histories, psychiatric disorders, and chronic pain conditions.
- Conduct patient assessments, complete physical examinations, collect clinical data, and order and interpret medical laboratory test results.
- Administer medications, perform minor surgery, and provide patient education on pain management and treatment options.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to develop and implement individualized treatment plans, ensuring seamless care transitions and optimal patient outcomes.
- Master's Degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
- Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner in the state of New York.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- Basic Life Support (BCLS) certification.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
This role requires standing, walking, and lifting frequently, as well as pushing, pulling, and reaching occasionally. The ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively is essential.
