The Role of the Maintenance Manager
The Maintenance Manager plays a vital role in the company's management team, contributing significantly to our success. Key skills for this position include planning, training, communication, and delegation. This is an opportunity for a motivated individual to build their own department and drive company-wide improvement.
Responsibilities
- Scheduling and Activity Assignment: Schedule and assign activities based on production needs, equipment availability, and personnel availability.
- Troubleshooting and Repair: Perform troubleshooting and repairs to ensure optimal equipment performance.
- Individual Development Planning: Establish and execute individual development plans for maintenance technicians to enhance their skills and knowledge.
- Performance Monitoring: Monitor individual and departmental performance to identify areas for improvement.
- Technical and Safety Training: Conduct regular technical and safety training to ensure compliance with industry standards.
- Communication: Communicate machine/project statuses with other managers and production control to ensure seamless operations.
Requirements
- Industrial Maintenance Experience: Five or more years of industrial maintenance experience.
- Complex Hydraulic Systems Knowledge: Extensive knowledge of complex hydraulic systems.
- Electrical Systems Familiarity: Familiarity with industrial electrical systems (12 VDC to 600 VAC).
- PLC Troubleshooting and Programming: Experience troubleshooting and programming PLCs.
- Management and Supervisory Experience: Management and supervisory experience, including team building, performance reviews, and individual development.
Work Environment
This is a hands-on role that requires physical presence and cannot be performed from a desk. The Maintenance Manager is also the chief maintenance technician. The work environment is demanding, both mentally and physically, but offers a high level of personal satisfaction for the right individual.
Compensation
The salary for this position is $62.50 per hour.
