Lutheran SeniorLife is a leading provider of community-based health and social service programs throughout western Pennsylvania. Our skilled nursing centers offer high-quality care and services to help individuals recover from illness or injury and regain their independence.

We are seeking an experienced Activity Director to oversee the development, implementation, and evaluation of activities programs at our Advanced Care Center of Butler. As a key member of our care team, you will be responsible for creating engaging and meaningful experiences for our residents, promoting their physical, emotional, and cognitive well-being.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, develop, and implement individualized activities programs to meet the diverse needs and interests of our residents.
  • Schedule and lead group and individual activities, including recreational, educational, and therapeutic programs.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of activities programs and make recommendations for improvement.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless delivery of care.

A successful candidate will possess excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with residents, families, and staff members.

Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must have:

  • Bachelor's degree (B.S.) in Recreation Therapy or equivalent experience as required by the NCTRC Board to achieve certification.
  • Certification required: Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS) by the National Council of Therapeutic Recreation Certification (NCTRC).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of computers, Microsoft Word, and Excel.
