Job Title: Behavior Therapist

Aspire of Illinois is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Behavior Therapist to join our team. Our ideal candidate will have a passion for making a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Job Summary:

The Behavior Therapist will play a vital role in providing clinical support services to empower individuals and promote their well-being. This includes providing behavior therapy assessments, creating individual behavior support/enrichment plans, consulting with and providing training for team members, and promoting skills for healthy relationships.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide Behavior Therapy/Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) services to individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities.
  • Collaborate with individuals and their support networks to develop effective strategies to promote skills for healthy relationships.
  • Complete and use assessment results, data, and input from individuals and their support networks to develop behavior support/enrichment programs.
  • Present plans and obtain approval from required committees.
  • Obtain approvals and documentation for plan implementation.
  • Review plan progress and share updates with individuals and their support networks.
  • Facilitate social development groups.
  • Promote individual rights and rights knowledge.
  • Provide billable services in accordance with DHS standards and meet billing targets for position.
  • Provide Team Training & Support:
    • Provides training to team members and support persons for plan implementation.
    • Performs observations in various settings, provides real-time consultation/coaching on supports and interventions.
    • Reviews treatment integrity and provides feedback to team members and supervisors.
    • Provides team member training; crisis intervention, intervention techniques, and related topics.
  • Produce & Maintain Clinical Documentation:
    • Monitors and manages corresponding data collection; provides training for data collection to team members as needed.
    • Completes/maintains documentation for corresponding committees and provider appointments accurately, timely, and in accordance with DHS and Aspire standards.
    • Completes/maintains required treatment documentation timely, accurately, and in accordance with DHS and Aspire standards.
    • Tracks and submits billing data timely, accurately, and in accordance with practice standards.
    Requirements:
    • Behavior Therapist - BA/BS in Psychology or human services field with at least 1500 hours of qualifying supervision.
    • Behavior Therapist - Level 2 Behavior Therapist approval by DHS or eligible for Level 2 approval.
    • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record required for either credential type.
    Preferred Skills:
    • Applied behavior therapy experience.
    • Advanced education beyond requirements for credentials.
    • 1-year experience working with people who have intellectual/developmental disabilities.
