About the Role:

We are looking for a highly qualified Advanced Medical Imaging Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing patients for examinations, explaining procedures, and setting up equipment to administer proper procedures in a timely fashion.

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, be able to work well under pressure, and possess a strong understanding of medical imaging protocols.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare patients for examination and explain procedures
  • Set up equipment to administer proper procedures
  • Perform CT procedures including abdominal, thoracic, neurological exams, extremities, sub-periosteal implant planning, radiation therapy treatment planning, biopsies, etc.
  • Adjust and ensure proper slice thickness and couch increment
  • In collaboration with Radiologist, extend parameters if needed within established imaging protocols
  • Utilize special devices to reduce exposure to ionizing radiation of radiosensitive areas
  • Adjust CT equipment to capture appropriate field of view and transmit cases to on-call Radiologist through Tele-Radiology system
  • Administer intravenous (IV) and oral contrast agents as per Radiologist order and perform venipuncture of the appropriate gauge necessary for examination
  • Explain IV contrast administration in layman's terms and complete IV Contrast Information Sheet with information provided by patient, family member or healthcare proxy
  • Recognize and assist in treatment of contrast agent reactions and IV extravasations
