We are currently looking for an Analyst or Senior Analyst to join our Credit Investments (CI) team, focusing on North American markets. This role will involve active participation in all facets of the private debt lending process, including investment evaluation, financial modeling, sector analysis, due diligence, and portfolio monitoring.
ABOUT THE TEAM
The Credit Investment group manages a substantial global portfolio, with aspirations for growth. Our team comprises over 35 investment professionals across various locations, known for delivering reliable and innovative financing solutions across diverse industries. We build long-term partnerships with leading private equity sponsors and other significant lenders, providing extensive capital commitments in both private and publicly syndicated transactions.
ABOUT YOUR ROLE
As an Analyst / Senior Analyst, your responsibilities will encompass two primary areas:
Investment Analysis & Transaction Underwriting:
- Conduct preliminary evaluations of investment opportunities, reviewing relevant financial documents and reports.
- Engage in due diligence processes, identifying key investment merits and risks while collaborating with management teams.
- Lead the development and review of detailed financial models, analyzing various operational scenarios.
- Assist in drafting essential legal documentation, including commitment papers.
- Contribute to the preparation of investment recommendation memorandums for decision-making.
- Participate in presenting investment proposals to the Investment Committee.
- Collaborate with Legal, Risk, and Tax departments in reviewing proposed investments.
- Build and maintain relationships with investment professionals at partner firms.
- Analyze financial reports from portfolio companies, explaining variances and tracking performance against internal guidelines.
- Prepare periodic performance reports and conduct various analyses on portfolio status.
- Interface with Accounting and Internal Control departments as necessary.
- Perform additional tasks as required.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED
- One to three years of relevant experience in investment banking, leveraged finance, or on the buy-side.
- Experience in credit investing or advisory roles is advantageous.
- Strong financial and accounting analytical skills.
- Attention to detail and effective presentation of information.
- Proficiency in business software and analytical tools, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Fluency in English is required; bilingualism is a plus.
- Education: A business or comparable degree with strong academic performance.
- Professional designations such as CA, MBA, or CFA are considered assets.
