Job Summary:

Meta is seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our Design Engineering and Construction team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing and developing innovative data center cooling systems that reduce costs, improve reliability, and increase efficiency.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical engineering, with a focus on data center cooling systems. You will work closely with our cross-functional teams to develop and implement new cooling technologies, and collaborate with vendors and academia to stay up-to-date on industry trends.

We are looking for a motivated and experienced engineer who can lead and implement technical scope of all phases of R&D life cycle of cooling solutions/technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Research and develop new data center cooling technologies and systems
  • Contribute to the development of data center cooling strategy and roadmap
  • Lead and implement technical scope of all phases of R&D life cycle of cooling solutions/technologies
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement new cooling technologies
  • Work closely with vendors and academia to stay up-to-date on industry trends

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering
  • Minimum ten (10) years of hands-on R&D experience in mission critical mechanical components and systems
  • Cross-disciplinary design, development, and operations knowledge of data center or similar mission critical industry heat absorption and heat rejection systems
  • Experience and expertise in mechanical modeling/simulation/analysis/design methodologies/tools
  • Proven analytical and troubleshooting skills
  • Effective presentation and communication to peers, stakeholders, and leadership

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree in Mechanical Engineering - MS, PhD
  • Professional Engineer registration
  • Experience in mechanical systems reliability modeling, statistical analyses, or data science techniques
  • Experience in cost estimating methodologies to establish business cases for R&D projects
  • Working knowledge of design, development, and manufacturing processes as applied to adjacent data center systems and solutions
  • Experience in applying systems engineering elements/methods to R&D projects
  • Design and operation experience with large and complex data centers, including campus systems
  • Working knowledge of relevant domestic and international standards, building codes, and safety regulations for cooling systems

Compensation:

$170,000/year to $240,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
