Job Title: Accompanist

We are seeking a skilled Accompanist to join our team at The Calhoun County Online Application Consortium.

Job Summary:

The Accompanist will provide musical support to our ensembles, accompanying them in various settings such as rehearsals, concerts, and competitions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in music theory, piano playing, and the ability to read and interpret musical notation.

Responsibilities:
  • Accompany ensembles in a variety of settings, ensuring professional musical support for students and instructors.
  • Rehearse with large choral groups, vocal sections, and soloists, providing high-level musical instruction assistance in diction, rhythms, and memorization of parts.
  • Analyze and learn multiple pieces of assigned music per semester, enhancing the instructional program and ensuring efficient use of rehearsal time and performance schedules.
  • Assist instructors with student-related activities, such as recording for individual students and practicing with individuals or small groups.
  • Attend work on a regular and predictable basis, providing students with high-quality services and instruction.
Requirements:
  • Meet ESSA highly qualified requirement of 60 college credit hours.
  • Ability to read and interpret musical notation.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of various musical styles.
  • Understanding of music theory.
  • Ability to play the piano.
  • Working knowledge of instruments in Band and Choir.
  • Strong personal integrity and professional ethics.
  • Strong Classroom management and organizational skills.
  • Posses good communication skills.
