The PACU Registered Nurse is a critical member of our healthcare team, responsible for providing high-quality patient care in the post-anesthesia care unit. This role requires a strong foundation in nursing principles, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities- Provide direct nursing care to patients in the post-anesthesia care unit, utilizing standards of care and policy and procedure.
- Assess patient needs and develop individualized care plans to ensure optimal outcomes.
- Administer medications safely and accurately, utilizing available resources when questions arise.
- Initiate and coordinate patient/family teaching using individualized effective teaching methods.
- Evaluate outcomes of care to determine if patient needs were met.
- Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) or Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) in the State of Florida.
- Experience as required in posting for dept.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required from the American Red Cross or American Heart Association.
- Intermediate computer knowledge, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Windows.
Pre-Op - 1 year acute care RN experience required, Advanced Life Support (ALS) certification required from the American Red Cross or American Heart Association.
PACU - 1-2 years critical care RN experience required, Advanced Life Support (ALS) certification required from the American Red Cross or American Heart Association, Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification required from the American Red Cross or American Heart Association for North Naples Campus and must be acquired within first 90 days.
