Position Overview:

We are in search of a highly driven and collaborative In Vitro Pharmacologist with a specialization in CNS drug discovery to become a vital member of our Drug Discovery team.

This role involves leading a dynamic and results-oriented team of in vitro scientists, spearheading projects, and collaborating across multidisciplinary project teams.

Success in this position hinges on the ability to design, execute, and deliver robust workflows that facilitate data-driven decision-making.

Rapid identification and implementation of suitable assay platforms to generate high-quality, impactful data for neuroscience drug discovery initiatives will be critical.

The ideal candidate will cultivate a nimble team of enthusiastic scientists, bringing deep biological expertise and a results-oriented approach to efficiently advance development candidates within our pipeline.

This fast-paced role requires a process-oriented mindset, with a focus on efficiency and continuous improvement.


Your Responsibilities:
  • Lead drug discovery project teams in neuropsychiatry, neurology, or neuroendocrinology to deliver high-quality molecules for clinical development.
  • Establish strategies and implement tactics to efficiently deliver high-quality data that informs project decisions.
  • Design and conduct sophisticated, technically challenging experiments to propel drug discovery projects forward.
  • Generate hypotheses to guide project objectives and establish new experimental directions.
  • Develop innovative experimental solutions to navigate obstacles in achieving project goals.
  • Contribute substantively to project activities and scientific strategies.
  • Maintain extensive knowledge of drug discovery practices and theories, serving as a technical lead on various projects.
  • Author regulatory documents as needed.
  • Implement automation and LIMS to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Train, mentor, and develop junior scientists.

Qualifications:
  • Proven technical expertise in CNS-relevant drug targets, assay development, and workflow design.
  • Demonstrated success in leading teams of PhD and BSc scientists, with a focus on mentorship and fostering passionate drug hunters.
  • Ability to collaborate within and lead multiple teams effectively.
  • Exceptional communication, problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
  • Capability to grasp and convey the broader context and long-term implications for programs and the organization.
  • Proficiency in managing multiple deadlines across various projects with a high degree of accuracy and efficiency.
  • Strong project management and leadership skills with a results-oriented mindset.
  • Influence the direction and resource allocation for programs/projects within the function.
  • Provide guidance to team members, establishing timelines and evaluating performance against key milestones.
  • Build effective working relationships throughout the organization to achieve collective goals.
  • BS/BA with 15+ years of experience, or MS/MA with 13+ years of experience, or PhD or equivalent with 7+ years of relevant experience.
