Bay Medical Management LLC (BMMLLC) is a distinguished medical services organization (MSO) based in Walnut Creek, CA, dedicated to providing comprehensive administrative and management solutions to Bay Imaging Consultants Medical Group (BIC), the leading radiology group in Northern California.
POSITION SUMMARY:
BMMLLC is currently in search of a part-time Health Information Services Technician, working 80% of full-time hours (32 hours per week), to deliver teleradiology support for BIC Radiologists. This position operates primarily during night shifts, including weekends and select holidays. After the initial 90 days of onsite training, the role allows for 80% remote work. The Health Information Services Technician will play a crucial role in coordinating incoming radiology examinations to ensure prompt review and reporting by radiologists, as well as the effective communication of results to the relevant clinical staff and physicians.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee worklists and filters within the designated BIC and hospital-based systems.
- Disseminate preliminary radiology reports to Imaging Departments, Emergency Rooms, inpatient units, urgent care facilities, and other clinics via Fax and/or PACSscan, confirming receipt with inpatient units.
- Manage and prioritize multiple incoming calls, directing them to radiologists as necessary, and initiate calls on behalf of radiologists as requested.
- Proactively monitor and respond to communications through email and instant messaging across various platforms, including Intelerad, Sectra, Chat Bunker, and Clario.
- Act as a liaison between radiologists, various sites, and the internal BMMLLC IT department, reaching out to Bay Medical and Hospital IT personnel as required.
- Retrieve prior patient images and records using Intelerad, navigating multiple systems.
- Perform a range of clerical tasks, such as copying, filing, and faxing.
- Utilize various computer systems to input, retrieve, and print patient information.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required.
- Some college education preferred.
- Prior experience in a hospital emergency or radiology department setting is advantageous.
- Familiarity with medical terminology is preferred.
- Strong computer and keyboard skills are essential.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Outstanding customer service skills.
- Meticulous attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Capability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced clinical environment.
SALARY RANGE: Competitive hourly rate, inclusive of a graveyard shift differential.
