Job Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Attorney - Insurance Defense to join our team at Jobot. As a key member of our legal team, you will be responsible for handling a wide range of first party claims and litigation matters, including general liability defense, product liability, and premises liability defense.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough and detailed legal research, drafting legal documents, and providing legal opinions and advice.
  • Represent clients in court, presenting evidence to defend clients in civil litigation, and managing and directing cases to settlement or trial.
  • Interact with clients, claim professionals, underwriting, risk control, and other parties involved in the legal process.
  • Negotiate settlements for legal disputes and manage all aspects of litigation, including the discovery process, trial preparation, and post-trial work.
  • Continuously update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks, and participating in professional organizations.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Member in good standing with the Florida State Bar.
  • Minimum 2+ years of experience in first party claims, general liability defense litigation, insurance, defense, products liability, and premises liability defense.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage a large caseload, prioritize tasks, and work effectively under pressure.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from clients, colleagues, and the general public.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail.
  • Proficiency in legal research tools and software.
  • Ability to work independently, but also cooperatively and efficiently as part of a team.
  • Commitment to maintaining the highest level of professional and ethical standards.
