Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Veterinary Technician to join our team at Courtenay Animal Hospital. As a key member of our veterinary team, you will assist veterinarians in providing exceptional patient care and client service in a fast-paced, multi-doctor animal hospital.

Responsibilities
  • Assist veterinarians in the care of animals, including restraining animals when necessary, stocking examination and surgery rooms with supplies, and ensuring equipment is in working order.
  • Perform technical skills such as venipuncture, catheter placement, anesthesia administration, and monitoring, dental prophy, radiography, administering medications, and performing laboratory analysis.
  • Communicate with clients (pet owners) and update patient files.
Requirements
  • Demonstrate professionalism, dependability, healthy and positive communication skills, and the ability to multi-task in a hands-on environment.
  • Energetic people-and-pet person with excellent work ethic and social and organizational skills.
  • Be compassionate and caring.
  • Willing to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
  • Can work individually and as part of a team.
  • Self-starter personality that can complete daily tasks without constant direction.
  • Prior experience preferred.
