About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Veterinary Technician - Internal Medicine Specialist to join our team at Vets Pets. As a key member of our veterinary care team, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and contributing to the overall health and well-being of animals in our community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist veterinarians in the diagnosis and treatment of animal patients with complex internal medicine conditions.
  • Provide veterinary nursing care to stable patients according to hospital standards of care and core values.
  • Report patient signalment, problem list, and plan during nursing rounds.
  • Calculate basic medical math and understand classification of commonly used medications, associated side effects, and appropriately monitor therapeutic response.
  • Administer medications via appropriate routes and duration.
  • Perform phlebotomy and triage and obtain patient history.
  • Assist clinician with diagnostic procedures and patient care, including treatments.
  • Prepare prescriptions and communicate discharge orders to clients.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a veterinary clinic or hospital, with a focus on internal medicine.
  • Veterinary Certification preferred.
