Key ResponsibilitiesAs an Assistant General Manager, you will collaborate with the General Manager to oversee account management in alignment with the approved budget while ensuring client satisfaction. Your role will include:
- Executing supervisory duties in compliance with organizational policies and legal standards.
- Conducting interviews, hiring, training, and mentoring staff.
- Participating in employee meetings and training initiatives.
- Maintaining food costs while upholding quality standards.
- Managing purchasing and inventory oversight.
- Applying knowledge of HACCP controls and proper food storage and usage.
- Handling additional responsibilities and special projects as required.
- A Bachelor's degree is preferred, or equivalent professional experience.
- Five to seven years of experience in upscale food service, including multi-unit management experience.
- Strong leadership and organizational skills, with the ability to adapt to changing environments.
- Proficient in supervisory, scheduling, training, and coaching techniques.
- Effective problem-solving and conflict resolution abilities.
- Capacity to manage multiple tasks while maintaining focus amidst interruptions.
- Experience in monitoring food purchasing, costs, preparation, and inventory control.
- Ability to prepare and oversee budgets, financial reports, and forecasts.
- Menu planning experience in collaboration with culinary teams.
- Knowledge of cash handling procedures and reconciliation of cash reports.
- Understanding of health and fire regulations related to food service.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong business etiquette and client relationship management skills.
- Effective time management and task prioritization abilities.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Extensive catering experience is essential.
- ServSafe or Department of Health certification is advantageous.
