We are seeking a highly motivated Research Assistant I to join our dynamic team at the Holt/Geleoc Lab in Boston Children's Hospital. As a member of our lab, you will have the opportunity to work on cutting-edge research projects focused on hearing and balance restoration.

**Responsibilities:**

• Design and conduct sophisticated molecular biology experiments, including cloning, subcloning, plasmid preps, PCR, Q-PCR, CRISPR/Cas9 construct design and validation, protein purification, and western blots.

• Assist with planning specific research procedures and coordinating schedules of experiments and procedures.

• Develop and troubleshoot new techniques specific to the lab.

• Maintain accurate records of results and methodologies in a log of work performed.

• Compile and analyze data, preparing charts, graphs, and results of studies.

• Demonstrate basic laboratory techniques to laboratory assistants, technicians, research fellows, residents, and students.

• Troubleshoot procedures if experimental results are unexpected or the quality of specimens is poor.

**Requirements:**

• Bachelor's degree in STEM or Psychology.

• Strong organizational and analytical skills.

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

• Prior lab experience is helpful but not required.

• Experience with genomics, genetics, or molecular biology is a plus.

• A two-year time commitment is preferred.
