We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Surgical Registered Nurse to join our team at Travel Nurse Across America. As a MedSurg RN, you will have the opportunity to work with a variety of patients, including pre- and post-operative patients, and provide high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities- Provide bedside care for patients, including conducting patient assessments and prioritizing data collection based on patients' immediate conditions or needs.
- Prepare, administer, and record prescribed medication, reporting any adverse reactions to treatment.
- Change dressings, insert catheters, and start IVs as needed.
- Prepare equipment and assist physicians during examination and treatment of patients.
- Educate patients on surgical procedures and provide support to patients' families.
- Participate in discharge planning and initiate patient education plans as prescribed by physicians.
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN)
- 2 years of experience as a Medical Surgical Registered Nurse
- Current BLS certification
- Additional certifications may be required before beginning an assignment
As a Medical Surgical Travel Nurse, you will work in a fast-paced environment treating patients who may be confused, agitated, and/or uncooperative. You will be required to stand and walk for long periods of time, bend, lean, and stoop without difficulty, and lift up to 50 pounds at times.
