Construction Paralegal Specialist

Marcum Search is partnering with a leading national construction company to search for a skilled Paralegal/Legal Assistant to join their team.
Job Summary:
The Paralegal/Legal Assistant will support the In-House Counsel in construction-related legal matters. This role requires a detail-oriented individual with strong organizational and communication skills to assist with contract drafting, document management, legal research, and construction project support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Draft, review, and revise construction contracts and related documents.
- Assist In-House Counsel with managing claims, disputes, and litigation.
- Conduct research on construction law issues as needed.
- Coordinate with project managers and other departments to gather information for legal matters.
- Review and analyze construction project documentation, including plans, specifications, and change orders.
- Manage, track, and implement contract management procedures.
- Support In-House Counsel with other legal matters as required.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree required.
- Paralegal certificate preferred and/or 3-5 years of construction law paralegal experience.
- Knowledge of construction contracts, contract law, mechanics liens, building codes, and construction litigation.
- Experience with factual research, document analysis, filings, drafting documents, and document production.
Technical Skills:
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and PDF editing programs.
- Familiarity with contract management software is a plus.
- Strong IT skills with an interest in using technology to deliver work.
Communication Skills:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues at all levels.
Organizational Skills:
- Strong work ethic and a desire to develop and succeed.
- Effective personal, organizational, and time management skills.
- Ability to juggle multiple demands and prioritize tasks.
