PRIMARY FUNCTION:

Your role will involve processing mortgage loan applications and preparing all necessary documentation for loan closings while offering continuous support to the mortgage loan manager.

You will also be accountable for the processing, documentation, preparation, closing, and disbursement of both in-house and secondary market mortgage loans.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Processing mortgage loan applications, which entails ordering appraisals, flood certificates, credit reports, title work, VOEs, and VODs. Completing disclosures in accordance with RESPA guidelines.

Preparation of loan closing documents, including Truth-in-Lending disclosures, HUD-1 settlement statements, notes, mortgages, and other relevant documents.


Recognizing the needs of members and providing them with information on how the Credit Union's offerings can fulfill those needs.


Posting closing entries for mortgage loans, packaging and selling loans for secondary market funding, and finalizing files for both in-house and secondary market loans.

This position also serves as a backup for balancing mortgage loan general ledgers and FICS sweep.


Additional duties as required; this may include providing rates and program information to real estate agencies, assisting with homeowners' insurance payments and real estate taxes for escrow account holders, documenting homeowners' insurance coverage for each first holder with SIU Credit Union as the lien holder, and staying informed about all security procedures and applicable regulations to ensure compliance.


POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
*High School Diploma and Bondability are required.
*Experience with loan documentation and familiarity with general ledgers is preferred.
*Strong mathematical skills and good analytical abilities.
*Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with members, staff, and management.
*Typing speed of 35 WPM and proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Windows-based applications.
