Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Electrician to join our team at Kinetico Incorporated. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for conducting major repairs to production and support equipment, fire protection systems, and building management systems.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Perform electrical troubleshooting and repairs on production equipment, including power and control systems, and modify existing electrical facilities circuits as required.
  2. Troubleshoot equipment issues by observing devices in operation, interacting with operators, and utilizing testing devices.
  3. Perform major repairs on a variety of electrical facility equipment, including programming PLCs and troubleshooting problems.
  4. Manage outside contractors used to support facility repairs or upgrades.
  5. Sources or fabricates replacement components or fixtures required to enhance operations.
  6. Manage the building management systems and fire protection systems, pumps, and alarm panels.
  7. Install new machinery and equipment and move machinery and equipment to affect layout changes as required.
  8. Perform preventative maintenance activities on building systems and production equipment.
  9. Assist the Manufacturing Engineer in other specialized areas as required.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Electrician qualification certificate
  • Minimum 5 years of work experience with electrical equipment and repairs
Competencies
  • Familiarity with industrial electrical systems and the National Electrical Code
  • Ability to troubleshoot PLC programming and diagnostics
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
  • Organized and able to prioritize and multi-task
  • Good verbal communication skills
  • Computer skills required, Microsoft Excel and Word
Physical Effort and Work Environment
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, pushing, and reaching
  • Frequent lifting of up to 50 pounds and maneuvering up to 100 pounds with a dolly
  • Frequently exposed to oil and noise
  • Exposure to heat or cold due to seasonal changes
