Position Summary:
The Production Equipment Technician is responsible for the upkeep and repair of manufacturing machinery and mechanical systems, including motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production equipment. A strong commitment to the Company’s Core Values is essential for success in this role.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Possess comprehensive knowledge of all equipment on production lines to effectively set up, adjust, repair, operate, and maintain within a timely manner.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in the adjustment and repair of all supporting equipment, including tape machines, strappers, stretch wrappers, jet printers, conveyors, and labelers.
  • Monitor the quality of production units and take corrective actions to resolve any quality issues.
  • Propose necessary repairs or enhancements to equipment to the Production Manager.
  • Collaborate with Machine Shop personnel on significant breakdowns and overhaul tasks.
  • Provide training to operators and apprentices as required.
  • Complete all necessary quality control forms and reports accurately and thoroughly.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Supervisory Role:
This position does not include direct supervisory responsibilities.

Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, candidates must be able to fulfill each essential duty satisfactorily. The following qualifications are necessary:
  • Effective communication skills with all team members.
  • Completion of Lockout and Tagout training is required.
  • Willingness to work the hours necessary to meet job requirements and demonstrate reliability.
  • Overtime work is a condition of employment.
Education and Experience:
A high school diploma or equivalent (GED) is required, along with training that meets the journeyman standards for die setter/press mechanic as mandated by the company or similar training from other sources; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Proficiency:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety regulations, operating instructions, and procedure manuals in English. Capable of writing routine reports and correspondence, and effectively communicating before groups of employees.

Mathematical Skills:
Ability to perform basic mathematical operations, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute percentages and interpret bar graphs.

Reasoning Skills:
Ability to apply common sense to follow instructions provided in written, oral, or diagram form. Capable of addressing problems involving multiple concrete variables in standardized situations.

Certifications:
Completion of journeyman training as required by the Company or similar training from other institutions is mandatory. Certification in CPR, basic first aid, and comprehensive Lockout and Tagout training is also required.
