Job Description

Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Shop Assistant to assist in the repair and maintenance of our fleet and equipment. As a Shop Assistant, you will work closely with our experienced team to ensure the safe and efficient operation of our vehicles and equipment.

Responsibilities:

1. Lubricate and service all equipment and fleet

2. Inspect for operating deficiencies

3. Repair and adjust equipment and fleet as directed and necessary

4. Assist with repair records

5. Assist Mechanic in establishing and following proper equipment maintenance methods

6. Assist Mechanic in demonstrating proper use and care of new equipment

7. Help establish and maintain safety procedures for using equipment

8. Perform general repairs and other preventive maintenance

9. Conduct all work in compliance with Occupational Safety and Health Administration standards; guidelines, personal protection equipment etc.

10. Comply with all company policies and procedures

Requirements:

Experience:

- Minimum 1-3 years of related assistant mechanic experience preferred

- Ability to operate and repair fleet and equipment safely within regulations

- Ability to read and converse in English for communication with managers and for safety reasons

- Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation

- May require a few nights out occasionally (not very often), company will pay per diem and hotel expenses

Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.; bend, stoop, lift, move, push, pull and carry boxes, equipment, tools etc.
