About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Governance Strategist to join our team at the National Library Board (NLB). As a key member of our organization, you will play a critical role in shaping our data governance strategy and ensuring the reliability, security, and quality of our data.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement data governance policies and procedures to protect sensitive information and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and ensure the capture of high-quality data.
  • Work closely with vendors to establish data transfer processes and agreements that meet our data quality, analytics, and security needs.
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive data governance framework that defines roles, responsibilities, policies, and procedures for managing data across the organization.
  • Monitor and measure the effectiveness of data governance initiatives and make recommendations for improvements.
Requirements
  • Good understanding of data architecture, data systems, and data models.
  • Practical experience in data governance, data management, or a related role.
  • Strong understanding of data governance principles, frameworks, and best practices.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills.
  • A mindset of constant investigation, curiosity, and pushing for incremental gains of all kinds.
