Job Title: Senior Behavioral Health Manager

Job Summary:

The Senior Behavioral Health Manager is a key leadership position responsible for overseeing and directing day-to-day forensic operations in a mental health care environment. This role involves managing a team of professionals to achieve agency and department goals, providing critical analysis and decision-making for forensic operations, and establishing and monitoring policies, procedures, and performance outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plans, organizes, and supervises forensics staff to achieve agency and department goals.
  • Provides critical analysis and decision-making for forensics operations.
  • Establishes and monitors policies, procedures, and performance outcomes.
  • Develops and oversees new initiatives and programs to enhance revenue and service delivery.
  • Supports strategic service transformation in line with the Department Strategic Plan.
  • Ensures interagency collaboration and oversight of contracted forensic services.
  • Compiles, analyzes, and reports on financial and statistical data to improve operations.
  • Assists with special or complex client cases.

Requirements:

  • Extensive leadership, program operation and management experience in a mental health care environment.
  • PhD or PsyD degree from an American Psychological Association (APA) approved program with specialization in clinical, child clinical, counseling, or education psychology.
  • Completion of a university approved internship in clinical psychology equivalent to one full year of supervised training of at least 1800 hours.
  • Two years of postdoctoral, post-internship experience involving assessment and treatment and either training, research, consultation or program planning in mental health services, law enforcement or corrections.
  • Four years of experience working in a forensic setting providing treatment and services for adults with seriously mentally illness and/or youth with seriously emotionally disturbed.
  • Five years of supervision or management experience in a mental health care environment or department.
