Job Title: Ready Mix Truck Driver

Centex Materials LLC is seeking a skilled Ready Mix Truck Driver to join our team. As a Ready Mix Truck Driver, you will be responsible for loading, transporting, and unloading ready mix concrete from our batch plant to customer job sites.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and compliance with company guidelines.
  • Maintain the truck's maintenance, check fluid levels, and fuel as needed or required.
  • Report any vehicle mechanical problems to ensure prompt attention from fleet maintenance.
  • Position the mixer truck under the batch plant to minimize material waste.
  • Follow written and oral instructions from dispatch or plant manager to ensure the quality of the concrete loaded into the mixer drum meets customer specifications.
  • Determine the most direct route to customer job sites, considering safety, traffic, and state DOT regulations.
  • Wear personal protective equipment as required or needed.
  • Drive and operate the mixer truck to deliver and unload concrete safely at customer job sites.
  • Inspect customer job sites to ensure safe operation and delivery.
  • Communicate pleasantly and professionally with customers.
  • Attach extension chutes as needed for efficient unloading.
  • Remove excess concrete from the truck's exterior surfaces, including chutes, with water at the customer's specified site and according to local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Discard excess concrete from the mixer drum according to company practices and guidelines and within local, state, and federal environmental regulations.
  • Ensure the mixer drum is properly maintained and kept free of concrete build-up on the interior.
  • Maintain communications with dispatch or batch plant through accurate and timely use of the Encoder system and two-way radio.
  • Keep the interior and exterior of the truck clean and free of clutter, including removing road film and excess concrete from exterior surfaces.
  • Complete required paperwork timely and accurately.
  • Follow established company policies and guidelines for safety, quality, and service.
  • Maintain a neat and professional personal appearance.
  • Work from other plants as needed.
  • Perform other duties as required by plant manager or other management employees.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Minimum age of 21 years old required.
  • Current, valid driver's license.
  • Current, valid Class A or B Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
  • Prefer at least one year of experience driving heavy equipment, especially in construction or construction-related positions.
  • Satisfactory driving and criminal record.
  • General knowledge of the local area is preferred.
