Community Porter - Custodian Job Description

At Centerspace, we are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Community Porter - Custodian to join our team. As a key member of our maintenance staff, you will play a vital role in maintaining the appearance and preservation of our properties.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform janitorial, grounds keeping, and light maintenance duties on a timely basis.
  • Ensure the cleanliness and organization of common areas, including parking garages, individual offices, clubrooms, and community rooms.
  • Conduct daily touch-up cleaning of tour paths and show apartment homes.
  • Assist with light apartment maintenance and in-home service requests.
  • Manage and maintain cleaning supplies, equipment, and inventory.
  • Operate within OSHA standards and company safety policies at all times.
  • Perform snow removal duties as needed.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to residents and team members.
Requirements:
  • Ability to read and interpret documents, including safety rules and maintenance instructions.
  • Mathematical skills to calculate cleaning solutions and amounts.
  • Reasoning ability to apply common sense and deal with problems in standardized situations.
  • Computer skills to efficiently use web-based timekeeping software.
Physical Requirements:
  • Constantly stand, walk, climb stairs, bend, stoop, crawl, crouch, squat, kneel, and use hands and fingers to grasp, grip, turn, and feel.
  • Frequently lift and/or move 10-25 pounds, climb ladders, and balance.
  • Occasionally lift and/or move more than 25 pounds with assistance.
