Job Responsibilities
  • Conducting comprehensive assessments and interpreting data to develop individualized treatment plans that cater to each student's unique needs.
  • Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, including teachers, psychologists, and other professionals, to implement effective speech-language therapy activities.
  • Maintaining open communication with parents/guardians and team members to ensure seamless implementation of treatment plans.
  • Developing and administering tests to support ongoing progress and IEP goals.
  • Providing insightful reports and recommendations for student needs, helping inform educational decisions.
  • Fostering a positive learning environment through behavior management strategies and empathetic understanding.
Qualifications
  • A Master's degree from an accredited academic program in Speech-Language Pathology or a related field.
  • Active ASHA certification for speech-language pathologists (CCC-SLP) and/or audiologists (CCC-A).
  • Strong interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration with child, parent/guardian, multidisciplinary team members, and other personnel involved in child's educational/behavioral program.
  • In-depth knowledge of child development and common behavioral disorders exhibited by children and adolescents.
  • Demonstrated understanding of Individualized Education Plan (IEP) development and implementation.
  • Understanding and sensitivity to diverse backgrounds and needs of students and families.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying current with best practices in counseling and education.
