Position Overview

Role Summary:

As a Surgical Technician II, you will be instrumental in establishing a sterile environment for surgical procedures. This includes the meticulous arrangement of sterile instruments, assisting surgeons with their attire, and ensuring patients are properly draped for surgery. You will play a crucial role in supporting the surgical team throughout operations by efficiently passing instruments and supplies, holding retractors, and anticipating the needs of the surgeons during the procedure.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and maintain the sterile field for surgical interventions.
  • Assist the surgical team by providing necessary instruments and supplies during operations.
  • Conduct equipment maintenance and testing to ensure operational readiness.
  • Adhere to all relevant regulations and policies to safeguard patient privacy and safety.
  • Support departmental functionality through the distribution of supplies.
  • May assist in training and orienting new staff members.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Completion of an accredited surgical technology program or equivalent military training.


Certifications:

  • BLS - Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider certification is mandatory.


Experience:

  • A minimum of one year of relevant experience in a surgical setting is preferred.


Skills and Competencies:

  • Comprehensive understanding of surgical instruments, procedures, and equipment.
  • Ability to interpret various forms of data and instructions effectively.
  • Basic knowledge of human anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to convey sensitive information professionally.
  • Excellent time management and organizational abilities, with a focus on prioritizing tasks.
  • Proficiency in computer applications, including Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Capability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Ability to identify and resolve standard issues by selecting appropriate solutions.
  • Build and maintain collaborative relationships with peers and healthcare providers.

Work Schedule:

Full-time position with a standard workweek of Monday to Friday, comprising 40 hours.

Compensation:

The pay range for this position is between $48.63 and $58.35 per hour, with variations based on experience, education, and other relevant factors.
