Job Duties: The Lactation Consultant is a specialized nursing professional dedicated to providing both physical and emotional support to breastfeeding mothers. Responsibilities include:
- Conducting individual consultations for unique breastfeeding challenges.
- Collaborating with healthcare providers to develop tailored care plans.
- Facilitating breastfeeding education classes.
- Offering guidance on breastfeeding assistive devices.
- Serving as a resource for breastfeeding information and developing educational programs.

Qualifications:
- Graduation from an accredited nursing program is preferred.
Licensure Requirements:
- Must hold a valid Registered Nurse license in South Dakota or meet multi-state licensure requirements.

- IBCLC certification is required within one year of employment.
- Membership in a professional nursing organization is encouraged.
Work Schedule:
- Standard hours are Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM; 64 hours per two weeks.
